One of our top priorities is active communication with parents and our community.  This website was designed to be a user-friendly communication tool.  We hope you will find the design aesthetically pleasing and the content current and informative.

Due to the amount of rain in the forecast

Congratulations to Will Gaunce a Senior at Paris High School for submitting the winning entry to the Bourbon County Joint Planning Commission Logo contest. Will Gaunce will receive $100 cash and his concept will be used to help form a brand for the One Stop Shop.


PES Hires New Principal
We are excited to announce that Mr. Keith Griesser will be the new principal at Paris Elementary beginning July 1st! 

Softball Success
Congratulations to our Ladyhounds softball team! They made history this season by winning their first 40th District championship and advancing to the 10th Region Championship game.

Employees Recognized
Our retiring employees were honored at the board meeting for their many years of service to the district. Congratulations to Connie Appelman, Peggy Garrison, Jeff Isaacs, and Margaret Spickler.

Signing Day
Congratulations to all our seniors who signed with their respective colleges in front of their families and classmates.

Our Middle Schoolers participated in the WHAS Crusade for Children Walk-a-thon to raise money for schools, hospitals, and agencies assisting students with special needs. They earned $70!

King and Queen
  PHS held their "Tiffany & Company" themed Prom on Saturday. Congratulations to Gabe Roberts and Kailee Finch on being named Prom King and Queen.

JKG Students Attend Competition

100 Man Lunch
PES held their annual 100 man lunch. Over 130 male role models attended the event, including some of our senior boys!

National Walk Out
Our students participated in the walk-out on 3/14 for seventeen minutes to honor the victims killed in the Florida school shooting in a movement to end school violence.

Student Excitement
Elementary students showed their excitement when they found out they would have their own chromebooks to work on!

Reading Across America
PES celebrated Read Across America week by hosting guest readers. Lisa Tubbs, FRYSC director at the elementary, read The Hungry Caterpillar to students while also dressed the part.

Staff Appreciation
Several of our FFA students presented teachers and staff members with goodie bags as part of FFA week.

Flag Donation
Representative Sannie Overly and Attorney Emily Ferguson present Paris Elementary with a new American Flag.

Spelling Bee Champs

Congratulations to Christopher Thomas who won the County-Wide Spelling bee today.  As the Bourbon County champion speller, Christopher will go on to compete at the state-wide spelling bee on March 17 at the Ky. Center for the Arts.  The county runner-up was Ciara Byars from PES.

MC Strong!
 Many of our teachers and staff wore their Orange and Blue
in support of Marshall County!


Black History Month
Yesterday PHS kicked off Black History Month by hosting a Poetry/Music Slam with readings and musical performances. You can see more pictures on our Facebook page.

Students Send Supplies
  Several students at Paris Middle and High School collected nearly 50 pounds of school supplies to send to victims of the California state wildfires. Students then packaged and mailed the supplies across country.

PES holds Spelling Bees
  Congratulations to Andrew Smith (runner up) and Ciara Byars for winning the 4th and 5th grade spelling bee. Ciara will represent Paris Elementary in the city-wide bee. The middle school representative will be determined this week. For pictures of all PES participants, see our district Facebook page.

School Board Appreciation
 January is school board appreciation month. Thank you to our members for the time and energy they put into our staff and students.

End of Semester Events
Thursday was a fun and exciting night for our students. Our middle and high school hosted a student showcase followed by a band concert. The Elementary held its student work showcase for 1st-3rd grade and sang for a huge crowd during their annual Holiday performance. As always, more pictures are available on our Facebook page.

Masons Donate Bikes
 The Masonic Lodge presented bikes to the Elementary as an incentive for perfect attendance.

JAG Students Attend Conference
Two of our JKG students Trey Kenney and Kelly Nguyen attended the National Student Leadership Academy in Washington, DC this week with teacher George Stafford.

Guests Tour Schools
  Today Tinder Harris, Louis Prichard, and Chuck Craycraft toured our schools with Superintendent Ken Bicknell. They were able to see the great things going on in the district and discuss the future of the Educational Foundation.

Students Celebrate Veterans
Elementary students sing to Veterans at their annual Veterans Day program. The middle and high school also held a program for Veterans. You can see more pictures in this weeks Citizen.

Students Teach Hygiene 
 High School students in the Academy of Health Science discussed hygiene with elementary students.

United Way Grants
Congratulations to Virtie Kirby and Elizabeth Waugh for receiving classroom grants from donations to the United Way Promise Fund last year. This years campaign runs November 1-21.

Band Advances

Congratulations to our Marching Band of Pride! They placed 4th in Quarterfinals and went on to march in the semi-finals this past weekend. They finished 10th overall!

Get Fit Winners
  Congratulations to PES teacher Amanda McMahon and her grandson John Snapp who won some nice prizes at the Get Fit Finale this weekend. We also had a class who won the community school award for active minutes. That class will receive a trip to Get Air. More on that will come next week.

AOHS Visits UK
Our Academy of Health Science students took a trip to UK Hospital to tour the ER. They were also able to experience simulation labs in the College of Nursing.

Youth Leadership Program
 11 of our Juniors are participating in the Paris/Bourbon Co Youth Leadership Program (formerly Corporate College). Today they visited the Water Treatment Plant and the Police and Fire Stations.
